Tutors Wanted

Hi, my name is Arun. I am 6 years old and live in Bristol (UK). I love trains, cars, swimming, YouTube, and going for long walks.

I also have autism. I am just learning to speak, and I am good at some special things: I know that googol is a very big number, bigger than a billion, but that infinity is even bigger. I also know the way everywhere in Bristol. Often I like to be in a world of my own, and when I visit somebody's house I like to visit every room before I sit down.

I am looking for people who can provide me with 1-to-1 teaching. You will be part of a team doing a programme called ABA (Applied Behaviour Analysis) to support me at school, and teach me at home. This means I get taught lots of different things such as communication with others. At the moment we need one or two tutors for Mondays and Wednesdays (although changes may be possible if needed).

For you this is a great job to have. You will need prior experience with children, or people with autism or other special needs. If you are not already familiar with ABA you will be trained. You will be working with my parents, a highly experienced ABA consultant, and my teacher at school, who are all very nice. You will also be paid well. I am looking for people who are committed, conscientious, enthusiastic, reliable, and willing to learn.

Please email your CV to my dad, Ruud. His email address is ruud@harshinder.com. You can also call him 07740 894706 or my mum Harshinder on 07748 613725. They can discuss this more with you and answer any questions you have.

You can also click the following links to find out more:

- We live in Brentry, Bristol, which is easily reached from the centre by bus (1, 54, 77) or car

- My ABA programme is managed by the UK Young Autism Project

- There is a lot about ABA on the internet, so much that I don't know which link to send you. Please use google, and if you do, you may want to spell "behavior" like this sometimes, as that what they do in America.
